Every year, the majority of fire deaths in North America happen at home. In Illinois the average (according to FEMA NFIRS Data) amount of fatalities were 7 per 1000 fires and 31 serious injuries per 1000 fires. Today’s home fires burn faster than ever. In a typical home fire, you may have as little as one to two minutes to escape safely from the time the smoke alarm sounds.
As scary as this sounds, this week we will go over a few tips to help you and your loved ones become better prepared for an emergency and help minimize risk.
